Rolled 55k into a gold IRA , but they did not fully disclose in laymens terms that 24k would be deducted as commission. So how many of you would allow this to happen knowing that you were going to immediately loose 30plus percent of your investment? Waiting for your reply!

Getting Screwed!

In 2011 I purchased nine oz. of gold from Lear, at spot price.

The Invoice showed nine $10.00 Liberty coins at $1513.00 . I agreed to this , as recorded by Lear, then sent them a check for the full amount. Several days later, I received the gold coins and put them in my safe, where they have resided since then. Recently, I decided to sell the coins back to Lear, and requested a quote.

I was shocked to find out that the nine coins were 1/2 oz., not the 1 oz. coins that I thought I purchased. I did not realize that a $10.00 Liberty coin was 1/2 oz. I suddenly realized that I had been scammed out of half of my investment.

This is what happens when you totally trust the company that you are dealing with, Lear Capital.

I haven't given up yet. I want to tell this to a judge.

I am happy with the transaction and just waiting on the second to be delivered. I knew up front that this would take longer than previous deliveries due to the silver shortage. I have received 2 orders so far. The first order was shipped quickly, the second order not quickly. I was dealing with Kris, a very nice person. Not pushy and answered questions. I had a time getting answers, but it was not Kris's fault. Their phone system appeared temperamental, but it all worked out. I really like working with David Juame because he has been extremely professional and helpful. I am a first time investor in precious metals and feel there was a big learning curve....David spent the time to share his knowledge and insight and never made me feel uncomfortable or, quite honestly, like the 'newbie' that I am. He has been patient and took the time to explain many details of the industry that I was not familiar with. And did this without arrogance or intimidation. He has been very personable --even thought we have not had a long relationship, I felt like he tried to know who I was---not just another client or phone call....I feel he is a genuinly nice person who likes to help people. Not once did he treat me like I was lesser. He followed up exactly as he indicated and contacted me everytime he said that he would; notified me IN ADVANCE of my shipment so I could make arrangements to be home. At the same time, I have had a very different experience with another precious metals dealer--a well known company, but I am working with one of the (many) brokers within in it....and I felt completely the opposite after my engagement: like I was a real beginner with no knowlege or ability to learn. Intimidated and shamed by my lack of knowledge. This guy also treated me like just another phone call...his 'hurry up and get to the order' kind of style did not make me want to contact him with any questions or ---more importantly--another order. I got only an email from him the day OF my delivery and had to scramble with schedules to ensure that I could receive. It was a very off-putting experience.
